How to download music from your site?

Playing music or download music from yur own simple html page just go through following steps:

1. make directory called "music" and make also html call "test.html" on your website folder.

2. now copy your music file in "music" folder, i am copying my favourite song for example:

3. Now you have your music file inside "music" folder, now open test.html in html editor and write following code:

4. now open test.html on your browser and then right click on link and press save as target or in firefox you can simply click on link to download:

5. You will see popup window in front of you, just choose path where you want to save song and then hit OK!

Nokia 3110c Review

Hi all, i bought nokia 3110c in june 2008, and now its 4th month for me and i am very satisfied with this mobile. Yes it is too good too cheap with great features, it has bluetooth, infra red, usb, camera 1.3mp, multimedia files support, black color, and etc etc, what you need more in 7,500rs? Oh by the way due to changes in taxes and subsidity in Pakistan now Nokia 3110c rates are 8500 PKR.

Well lets have talk about some good points which inspired me lot:

First it is in black color, Ofcourse black is my favourite, then i really would like to talk about music player, fm radio, and connectivity. All things are just perfect and you wont believe battery time is so good, it gives me complete 3 days with 24 hours listening FM radio, and 2 days if listen songs 12 hours. What you need now? Other things i want to mention that price of this set is too cheap compare to its features. Specially when you talk about Nokia. I think first time nokia introduced this type of mobile. Well i really like this mobile. It contains 5 mb builtin memory and suppor till then 2gb storage. Optimum battery time for calls and stand by mode both. Supporting 256k colors, polyphonic tones, mp3 and aac also supported, gprs, hscsd, edge, bluetooth, infra red and usb is data management options in 3110c.

Able to send sms, mms and email to many reciepients in a same time, also support browsing on WAP 2.0 / XHTML based browser, you can download games and several applications (java based), camera is supporting 1.3 mega pixels and 1280x1024 pixels, other features like push to talk java midp, fm radio, t9 and calendar are common features of nokia so they are also included in 3110c. Stand by time is 370h and talk time for this mobile is upto 4h.

Lets count some negative points which are ignorable for me:

First covers (case) of nokia 3110c are so sensitive, they can be change but need some proffesional for this work. FM radio quality is not good as compare to other sets but it bearable actually or radio RJ's are also not bearable :D so it ok for me. if i load 100% complete 2GB card in 3110c so it make processing slow even navigation slow, But why 2gb complete? :D is it flash drive? take it as mobile dude. Yeahhhhh camera flash i really miss flash option from nokia mobiles, i wish i could have flash...

All other stuff are so common for me so there is no other big negative points.

if i would rate this mobile under:

Design = 7.5
Features = 8.5
Performance = 8

SO why u waiting lets get this device...

Using Your Materials - How to use a text editor and a web browser.

Okay, to start using HTML you will want to familiarize yourself with the software you will be using. So, to get started, open Notepad (or your text editor). You should see a completely blank page. Now, type in the text below. We will make use of it later with the Web browser.

Type the following:

Once you have finished, go to the "File" menu and click on "Save As". This will prompt you to create a name for your file. In the box, type in: myfristpage.htm

At the bottom of the prompt you should see a space that says "Save file as Type" or "Save as Type". The default is .txt, so you will need to change it. Click on the down arrow on the right side of the input box. You should be able to highlight All Files(*.*) . Click on this to make the change. You should see something similar to the picture below:

This is an example using Windows XP. The text was enlarged so you could see the part we are interested in at this point. Now you may choose the drive and directory to save to, and click on "Save". You can use this routine each time you create a new HTML file.

Now you will want to use your Web browser to view the file you just created. So, start up your Web browser. If you are given an option to connect to the Internet, you can cancel the connection and you will likely end up with a blank page. You may also see an error saying the browser could not connect to "http://somepage.html" or something similar. You should be able to hit OK and get a blank page. Now, in the address bar (where you manually type URLs), type in the path to your HTML file. If you have the file in a directory called "myfiles", you would type the following:

c:\myweb\myfristpage.htm

If you hate typing paths all day, is to use the "Open Page" option. To use this, go to the "File" menu in your Web browser. Look for an option that says "Open Page", "Open File", "Open Local File", or a similar phrase. Click this option and you will be able to browse for your file and open it from there. The image below shows where this can be found in some versions of Internet Explorer:

Once the page is displayed, you will see something like the following:

I know, it's not much yet, but you have written your first Web page. You are now prepared to use HTML to build a Web page! Let's move on to Basic Formatting in next tutriol.

To start using HTML, you will need to have a few things. Here is the list of items you need to have to get started:

1. You will need a text editor of your choice. If you have windows, Notepad will do the trick. If you have a Mac, you can use BBEdit.

To find Notepad/BBEdit on your computer:

In Windows 95 or higher, click the "Start" button, go to the "Programs" folder, then to the "Accessories" folder. You should then see the above icon (but smaller) with "Notepad" written to the side of it. Open it by clicking over this area.

On a Mac, you should be able to find "BBEdit" under the Apple menu.

2. You will need a Web browser of your choice. If you possibly can, use the latest version of Firefox, Netscape Navigator, or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

3. You will need a place to save your work. You can use your hard drive, a floppy disk, or your Web server. You don't have to work online, you can write the HTML and use your Web browser offline on your own computer. We will get to that shortly, in the next tutorial.

Okay, once you have the above materials, you can begin creating your own Web pages with HTML.

Hi, i am running this blog since Feb, 2008. Its my first personal blog, now its almost comes to end of 7 months of this blog but still i have no comments in my any posts. Its enough for me to write in a room where no one comes!

I was surfing about to call traffic on your website i found lot of ways but from all ways i got one biggest process that "write a right content", definitely i was missing this process. I found lot of blogs which are full only because of tutriols. Yes i have decided to write free tutorials here in blog from now. I have extended knowledge in website designing and other computing stuff, and i keep searching about new things so i am starting to write tutorials. InshAllah i will be able to receive lot comments in one day!

Wasting designing skills!

I was working as graphics designer before 5 months, and i was getting great innovative approach in my designs. Because in Pakistan graphics designer is almost low salary profession i decided to move my self towards project management. Let me tell you i am graduate which specialized in computing and information system. So according to my studies project managements is perfect field for me. But i think i am born to design. I left a designer job but in spare time i keep doing freelance work relating to designing and i normally listen WOW from my clients.

But now i think i should go with graphics design field with complete power and interest. Because i am not having any single fun in project management field. There is no creativity it only needs communication skills such as plastic smile on your face always! :D I am very moody person and i cant have plastic smile but still i do. :) I was surfing internet and found new courses in the graphics field offering by Arena Multimedia. I decied to visit Arena personally so did and got information about courses, fees and schedules. It was all OK for me. But i have to pay fees of my MBA so i think Arena could be postponed!

But i have decided to take an admission in arena so my graphics skills can be furbished and in this way i can learn new things. Current job is OK for me untill i get a big job in design field. My cousins, my relatives, my friends are strongly suggested me to keep continue designing its a worth for me.. But i scare lot becoz of future... But now enough.. I am going to start my graphics designer career again! InshAllah i will be successfull.. :)

In software engineering, a design pattern is a general reusable solution to a commonly occurring problem in software design. A design pattern is not a finished design that can be transformed directly into code. It is a description or template for how to solve a problem that can be used in many different situations. Object-oriented design patterns typically show relationships and interactions between classes or objects, without specifying the final application classes or objects that are involved. Algorithms are not thought of as design patterns, since they solve computational problems rather than design problems.

Not all software patterns are design patterns. Design patterns deal specifically with problems at the level of software design. Other kinds of patterns, such as architectural patterns, describe problems and solutions that have alternative scopes.

Structure

Design patterns are composed of several sections (see Documentation below). Of particular interest are the Structure, Participants, and Collaboration sections. These sections describe a design motif: a prototypical micro-architecture that developers copy and adapt to their particular designs to solve the recurrent problem described by the design pattern. A micro-architecture is a set of program constituents (e.g., classes, methods...) and their relationships. Developers use the design pattern by introducing in their designs this prototypical micro-architecture, which means that micro-architectures in their designs will have structure and organization similar to the chosen design motif.

In addition, patterns allow developers to communicate using well-known, well understood names for software interactions. Common design patterns can be improved over time, making them more robust than ad-hoc designs.

Joomla! is a free, open source content management system for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets. The system includes features such as page caching to improve performance, RSS feeds, printable versions of pages, news flashes, blogs, polls, website searching, and language internationalization. Joomla is licensed under the GPL, and is the result of a fork of Mambo.

The name Joomla officially ends with an exclamation mark, but this is commonly omitted.It is written in the PHP programming language and uses the MySQL database by default.

Features

The Joomla package consists of many different parts, which are built to be as modular as possible, allowing extensions and integrations to be made easily. An example of such are extensions called "Plugins." (Previously known as "Mambots.") Plugins are background extensions that extend Joomla with new functionality. The WikiBot, for example, allows the author of Joomla content to use "Wikitags" in Joomla articles which will auto-create dynamic hyperlinks to Wikipedia articles when displayed. There are over 3,500 extensions for Joomla available via the Extensions Directory.

In addition to Plugins, more comprehensive extensions are available. "Components" allow webmasters to perform such tasks as build a community by expanding user features, backup a website, translate content and create URLs that are more friendly to search engines."Modules" perform such tasks as displaying a calendar or allowing custom code like Google AdSense etc., to be inserted within the base Joomla code.

For some offical project i got a chance to learn about RFID, it is now too late to share but new for me and it is my blog so let me do it :p kidding.. well i did small research on RFID and got some useful information. It is good and perfect technology specially for supply chain management and asset managment solutions. Let me describe RFID breifly:

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders.

An RFID tag is an object that can be applied to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification using radio waves. Some tags can be read from several meters away and beyond the line of sight of the reader.

Most RFID tags contain at least two parts. One is an integrated circuit for storing and processing information, modulating and demodulating a (RF) signal, and other specialized functions. The second is an antenna for receiving and transmitting the signal. Chipless RFID allows for discrete identification of tags without an integrated circuit, thereby allowing tags to be printed directly onto assets at a lower cost than traditional tags.

Today, RFID is used in enterprise supply chain management to improve the efficiency of inventory tracking and management. However, growth and adoption in the enterprise supply chain market is limited because current commercial technology does not link the indoor tracking to the overall end-to-end supply chain visibility. Coupled with fair cost-sharing mechanisms, rational motives and justified returns from RFID technology investments are the key ingredients to achieve long-term and sustainable RFID technology adoption.

I think its good technology and should be use in all over the world specially in Pakistan it will increase revenue for us.

Bought Nokia 6070

Lastnight i bought nokia 6070, i know its too late but when nokia 6070 launched i was using SE k750i and there is no comparison with these two mobiles. Well my cooworker had a nokia 6070 i tested my requirments on his mobile phone and then decided to purchase nokia 6070 last month but due to some financial issues i was not able to buy, and i bought Nokia 2310 which is also good phone. But it is not looking impressive to me, because i am design freak so i always find some good design according to my taste.

Anyways i went to Sarena Mobile mall near to my home and sale out my Nokia 2310 in the amount of 2500 Rs/- and then my friend bought Nokia 3110c in the amount of 7000 with full warranty of united mobiles. Because my friend was selling out his nokia 6070 so i decided to purcahse nokia 6070 from my mobile instead of market.Ofcourse friend is better object to trust. :p

I also have Nokia 3110c and now i have got also nokia 6070, WOW 2 cameras phone with FM radio, MMS, GPRS, Internet on both mobiles. Its amazing for me...! So i suggest if you still can go for nokia 6070, so it would be best set in cheap rates.

I was idle but not free...

Getting confuse after reading title? Well let me say...

In my previous job i had a lot of work pressure in 8 hours day i used to do 16 hours work. In my new (current) job i have restrict responsibility which is ofcourse good for me and organization. But i worked 3 years for last employer with lot of tasks and projects. So sometime i feel so borring and sleepy in my new job. :D

My last employer was a software development house and nature of development house is always busy and headache in the sense of deadline, but now i am working in project management sector for my new employee and it takes lot of work but so lazy. Initially i thought i am wasting my skills here, but now i feel good and enjoy working with new team and eomployer.

I joined in April, 2008 and got permenant letter in July, 2008 in these 3 months i was just idle not working for my employer just learning their ways and doing some small projects such as meeting and maintenance, organizing documents, project management templates they use, and many more. So i used to feel as idle in these 3 months but, i know my skills and i got a idea about learning php. I learned php over the internet i did some sample projects to implement my php skills, I learned new scripts specially new in javascripts, i got a review on AJAX and validation, I learned Joomla and other stuff. So i can say confidently i was not free. :p

Now after 3 months i really can produce web application based on php, mysql with complete dynamic functionality. I can create websites based on CMS systems (JOOMLA), actually i am doing my personal portfolio on the joomla. So it was good journey to learn new things, but it is not end i am still looking for new stuff. I will try my best to put my all skills in my portfolio so you can view my effort.

Siraat - the band Offical Launch

Hi All,
Well this time i am announcing the very energetic band now is on air. Yes Siraat a musical way recently launched thier songs "Meri Zindagi" is on AAg.tv.

Siraat currently based on two members Atif (guitarist) and Tahir (Vocalist). Let me tell you i know these guys since my birth, and Atif was my classmate as well in school and intermeddiate. Well i know Siraat hard work to come in the pakistan pop music market.

i like song lot Meri Zindagi, and there are many songs which are good and about to launch soon. Siraat currently working on thier new projects. I believe they will be very top in future!

Recently i had a contract to develop website for SIRAAT, it will be ofcourse offical website... So you guys can get all information from there! Simply a musical way.. SIRAAT.

Confuse About Design

Hi once again to all!

Well before in may, 2008 i talked about new design and strategy of my personal portfolio. I have put my website in under construction message. Let me say first i am so choosy person, specially things which persoanlly about me. So obviously i am so much confused about my new design i designed few templates in 3 months but i feel no attraction and that's why i didnt go more.

I have done with my new strategy, but design is still pending. I search lot of new and current concepts over the internet and i found unique concepts every day from many designers. Another main reason to work slow is "Not much time". As you all know i recently joined new organization which is so strict regarding about their work, and i have lot of work pressure in my office day. In previous company i had a time to work on my personal stuff, but not now. But its not a good reason for any proffessioanl.

I made 4 designs and rejected all after 2 weeks. I recently reject my latest design, and now looking for new concept. Actually my new strategy is something about business and its too difficult design layout for business themes. Personal pages could be design with specific layouts, but not business. That's why i am getting so slow regarding my new website design.

But in this time period i have got lot of new technologies and skills, because research and development is in my job responsibility so i found new skills and believe me i am trying it and most of them are ready for new version of my website. i found such as CMS system, php skills, JS skills, Illustration, and many more. So lets wait for good and creative things. I will be back asap!.....

Master in Business Administration (MBA)

HI once again to all,

Recently before 6 months i enrolled in MS in software engineering with very freak approach. I have passed my first semester with excellent result, but i realize that, i am not able to do MS in SE, because it need more research work and due to my job and other projects i can not continue on research. And Mathemtics courses in MS could be strong reason for me to quit from MS because i hate actually i really hate MATHS.

So whts now? I need to do master which does not contains research work and mathemtics (numericals), after researching on internet and freinds i found MBA would be good choice for me. But not pure MBA because it is basically formed for business administration, i like MBA in Management information system (MIS). It contains both managment and computer courses in catalogue. It would be good and perfect choice for a future project manager. I have enough technical skills, and i will keep learning technical but as short courses or diplomas. I need some major degree in management to improve my skills specially in the area of management, communication and others.

As i told you about moving to Dubai, I was looking for some foriegn universities but they are too costly and ofcourse i am not a son of any rich man :). Anyways in Pakistan we have Virtual University (VU) which is very perfect for proffesionals who can not attend calsses on campus. VU provides lectures and handouts on CDs and other media. VU broadcasting thier lectures in television on thier owen channels. It was all ok for me, but how VU inspired me? I inspired with thier overseas exam facility, yes i can take exam anywhere in the world with internet connection. They have complete procedure and policy for it.

I still have a option between MBA MIS and MBA FINANCE, I dont know what i will do but i am sure i would for MBA MIS with 70% ratio. Its good and looking reliable for me. Lets see what happens?

What normal Pakistani face?

According to situation running around Pakistan, I feel so confident when i say Our government's actions are not flexible anymore for us. There is lot of things which make difference in the thinking of government and normal person. I am really shock and furustrated from many issues around me. I simply ask to myself when all things will be organized and cultured? Just think how you will feel when you are not able to eat properly in your own country, just because of high prices? Think what will be your feeling when you paying 100 Rs/- per liter for fuel? I am agree prices are very high in other countires, but is it neccessary to follow other's patterns?, and by the way they increases step by step, not directly jump from 52 rs to 76 rs in one month like us.

Let me divide issues in sub sections.

1. High Prices Killing Peoples:

This is current major issue in Pakistan, You keep watching sucide cases in news just because of high prices of food. We normal people who earn 20k per month suffering with lof of difficulties so what about those where earning based on daily work? Can they purchase meat? Can they purcahse vegetables? No, They cant even take cup of tea because of highest price of SUGAR. Thanks Allah, Pakistan's native have lot of patience otherwise in this situation peoples get so furstrated and can make war environment. When government will solve this issue? When utilities stores will not have longest line? When a normal person can take proper food of three times? WHEN? WHEN? WHEN? No one from government is ready to answer this. What to do?

2. Security:

Another hot issue revolving since 1980 is security of a normal person. Initially in the light of operation against criminals, government killed lot of peoples without having any proof. After long time we faced street crime in Pakistan. Street crime was initially started from Karachi but in few months it has become national issue. It includes, snatching of vehicles, mobiles, dacotty and etc. And now days we are facing new trends which is Bomb Blasts, Sucide Attack. Sucide attacks initiated in the name of ISLAM, but now days everyone using sucide attacks and blame on ISLAM, Let me tell you ISLAM NEVER SUPPORTS IT, NEVER!, i dont know which ISLAM they are studying? But another main obvious thing is every person using ISLAM and TALIBAN for thier taste.

No one is watching this from government. Where is LAW? Recently we had blasts in ISLAMABAD and KARACHI? Where was government? Isnt this responsibility of government to track this issue and resolve it? But our great government is busy with our stupid Lawyers. They believe Lawyers are major problem in Pakistan.

3. Facilities:

We are facing dozens of problem in Pakistan so i have put all in facilities section, It contains such as, education, electricity issue, local police, traffic police, maintaining new developments and many more.

I said new developments which might be painful for some of you, but its fact Mustafa Kamal is dveleoping lot of new and good projects in karachi, but this is not a one man show our mayor musatafa must need team to maintain it.So new projects will be more longer and potential.

Local and traffic police is involved in corruption, i dont know why, when i asked reason to a local police men the he gave me rubbish reason "Salary is not satisfying him". But i heared and read police, hospitality, teaching are the service oriented proffession so why they expect it? And when you have no education certificate then there no reasons found to get handsome package. Our police should thanks to Allah and government that they have job, if i would be in charge i never hire people ungraduate peoples in police specially where you are facing common natives. It must need some communication skills.

Government is still missing here, i dont understand why they dont do thier work why? so rubbish, i simply refuse anymore elections from now ! Rubbish! Rubbish! Rubbish!

Well there is lot of things i want to highlight but these are actually huge in volume so i can not due to time shortage. Anyways hope for good!

Day Begins & Ends with no power!

After long time i have something to write, actually it is very hot current issue moving in pakistan. Yes some from you may guess right about my topic which is "KESC FAILURE". According to title of this post you can imagine current situation in karachi, Yes we start our day with no electricity and we finish our day with no electricity. Beofre few days related managers of KESC stated that "Short of power in KESC", but i ask why this shortage comes? why and how a rubbish power can reduce? ofcourse no answer from anyone.

I my self live in karachi, north karachi. When i open my eyes to got office in the morning i can not see electricity in my house, when i come back to home and try to ring the door bell then i relaize there is no electricity, and in the last when i go to sleep around 12 am in night i see again this no power disease. I simply ask WHAT THE HELL IT IS?
And i feel so angry in the end of month when i recieve complete monthly invoice with huge amount :s i am not saying i m scared to pay, but why should i pay when i dont have electricity in my life? what is this invoice for and why?

They say wapda is not providing enough electricity to KESC, but can't we see WAPDA is also going down in punjab due to shortage of electricity so how they can provide to KESC? anyways you can not buy anything freeley or creditly in now days, and you are trying to buy electric power with huge credit? Since 1952 when KESC established you are purchasing powers from WAPDA i ask cant you guys develop your own power generators in this time period.

We have a power stations located in Korangi and bin qasim in karachi but we read and watch in news papers and channels about failure of these two projects? Just imagine how much you guys dumps? Since 1952 you can not even manage your terminal and you need KALABAGH DAM for electricity power? I ask if you are permitted to develop KALABAGH DAM then how you will manage it?

I feel some times very good when peoples burns KESC assets such as vehicles, offices, and etc. Peoples living in this situation are so angry and they need somethings to reduce anger. But its not good to disturb you natives, its complete against our religion and culture. I dont know what to do? but i bet if city government handles KESC for few years KESC will become more powerfull asset of Pakistan. Just try them afterall you have greatest traffic system in world because CDGK.

Lets hope for good, i heared about new owners of KESC, lets see them, i believe KESC only need peoples who are dynamic, hard workers and honest with thier duties and responsibilites.

Planning to move from Pakistan

Every Pakistani, actually not only Pakistan i think most of indians and other asian's natives have a dream to move to abroad for making money or studying or visit. So i had a dream to move outside to make money and settled down, and finally i have reached to level where i can execute my dream in real world. In my dream i always used to think about Australia, yes now days Australia is hen which provide gold egs :D. But now i dont have a single percent interest to move to Australia. I love Dubai and yes you are right i am going to move to Dubai. In this week on Monday in the evening after reaching to office i announced my decision front of my parents so what should i expect from them? Yes my father got excited and still excited about my move but mother is not happy because i am his son na... :) But why i am not moving to Australia? this my mother is a reason because i cant live without her and ofcourse my family. So i think Dubai is more flexible for me It just take one hour to travel between Dubai and Karachi. So whenever i miss my family i can easly come back.

So here comes a plan to move Dubai, i can take minimum 6 months time for this move i have to finish lot of things here in karachi. Currently i am bachelor in comuting and IS and doing masters but i will continue my master from SZABIST Dubai campus so no issue about education. But i want to get some certification related to project management so it will be helpfull to get handsome salary package in Dubai. This certification also related to my proffession and i will transfer my master in Executive Master in Project Managemen from Szabist Dubai. Anyways Dubai is very expensive in accomodation and transportation but i think my employer can give me atleast transportation and accomodation i will arrange from my salary. Initially i will be leaving in sharing if i get less then 8k AED per month other wise i can arrange 2k per month for seprate room from 8k. Well i am not sure about continuing my master till then 1 year atleast yep i can enroll from next year.

Now i have submitted application to get Domicile and PRC (Offical documents in pakistan which is mandatory to get passport) InshAllah in the next week i will get Domicile and PRC and in the last of this month i will get passport. Then i will move to get PMP certification which takes minimum 4 months 3 for training and 1 for exam. Then i will send my documents to father's friend living Dubai who will confirm my job there and if in case (GOD FORBIDS) he is not able to make my job so i will move to Dubai with visit visa and find job myself. But inshAllah i will move after conforming my job. So in the my view i can see more 6 months minimum in Pakistan it may be extend but i think 6 are good enough.

Anyways please pray for me and my move to Dubai.

CSS - What the hell it is?

Reason to read this article in my view, You might be web designer, you are looking for any css solution, or you are my fan :). But let me explain who can understand and have benefits from this article. Its more technical article i am writing about CSS (Cascade Style Sheet). Mostly web designers knows that thing so obviously web designer is my target audience. But i am not restricted any one can read it. It might create interest in you. :) So lets begins:

CSS Introduction

If you take books and other stuff for introduction of CSS so most probably you will have complex definations and articles. Let me just explain CSS in easy words.

"CSS stands for Cascade Style Sheet and it uses for presenting web application in right manner with beauty and styles."

So after reading above line you will have some issues: let me clear some frequent issues you can ask me by email later:

1. if css uses to present web application so what is HTML?

Yes you are right HTML uses for presenting data but CSS can furnish that HTML data with great beauty and styles. CSS is more powerfull style based technology but still it depends on HTML. It can not run without HTML tags.

2. any large benefit from css?

Yep!, If you are involve in web based projects so in the last stages you could have a big issue which is browser dependency. Yes website without css always occurs this issue some website runs great in Internet Explorer but not in FireFox or in Opera? So whats a solution? CSS provides you a solution of this issue you just need to make site compatible with css then you will have flexible independent website.

3. any standards in css?

Yes w3c has established several standards for web based technologies you can try it out on thier website www.w3.org.
So above issues are mostly frequent. I hope you have clear vision of CSS now in your mind.

Use of CSS

Prior to CSS, nearly all of the presentational attributes of HTML documents were contained within the HTML markup; all font colors, background styles, element alignments, borders and sizes had to be explicitly described, often repeatedly, within the HTML. CSS allows authors to move much of that information to a separate stylesheet resulting in considerably simpler HTML markup.

Headings (h1 elements), sub-headings (h2), sub-sub-headings (h3), etc., are defined structurally using HTML. In print and on the screen, choice of font, size, color and emphasis for these elements is presentational.

Prior to CSS, document authors who wanted to assign such typographic characteristics to, say, all h2 headings had to use the HTML font and other presentational elements for each occurrence of that heading type. The additional presentational markup in the HTML made documents more complex, and generally more difficult to maintain. In CSS, presentation is separated from structure. In print, CSS can define color, font, text alignment, size, borders, spacing, layout and many other typographic characteristics. It can do so independently for on-screen and printed views. CSS also defines non-visual styles such as the speed and emphasis with which text is read out by aural text readers. The W3C now considers the advantages of CSS for defining all aspects of the presentation of HTML pages to be superior to other methods. It has therefore deprecated the use of all the original presentational HTML markup.

Browser Support

A CSS Filter is a coding technique that aims to effectively hide or show parts of the CSS to different browsers, either by exploiting CSS-handling quirks or bugs in the browser, or by taking advantage of lack of support for parts of the CSS specifications. Using CSS filters, some designers have gone as far as delivering entirely different CSS to certain browsers in order to ensure that designs are rendered as expected. Because very early web browsers were either completely incapable of handling CSS, or render CSS very poorly, designers today often routinely use CSS filters that completely prevent these browsers from accessing any of the CSS. Internet Explorer support for CSS began with IE 3.0 and increased progressivly with each version. By 2008, the first Beta of IE 8 offered support for CSS 2.1 in its best web standards mode.

An example of a well-known CSS browser bug is the Internet Explorer box model bug, where box widths are interpreted incorrectly in several versions of the browser, resulting in blocks which are too narrow when viewed in Internet Explorer, but correct in standards-compliant browsers. The bug can be avoided in Internet Explorer 6 by using the correct doctype in (X)HTML documents. CSS hacks and CSS filters are used to compensate for bugs such as this, just one of hundreds of CSS bugs that have been documented in various versions of Netscape, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer (including Internet Explorer 7).

Even when the availability of CSS-capable browsers made CSS a viable technology, the adoption of CSS was still held back by designers' struggles with browsers' incorrect CSS implementation and patchy CSS support. Even today, these problems continue to make the business of CSS design more complex and costly than it should be, and cross-browser testing remains a necessity. Other reasons for continuing non-adoption of CSS are: its perceived complexity, authors' lack of familiarity with CSS syntax and required techniques, poor support from authoring tools, the risks posed by inconsistency between browsers and the increased costs of testing.

Currently there is strong competition between Mozilla's Gecko layout engine, the WebKit layout engine used in Apple's Safari, the similar KHTML engine used in KDE's Konqueror browser, and Opera's Presto layout engine - each of them is leading in different aspects of CSS. As of 2007, Internet Explorer's Trident engine remains the worst at rendering CSS as judged by World Wide Web Consortium standards ([2] as linked from [3]). In April 2008 Internet Explorer 8 beta fixes many of these shortcomings and renders CSS 2.1. It nearly passes the ACID2 test.

Limitations

Some noted disadvantages of using "pure" CSS include:

Inconsistent browser support

Different browsers will render CSS layout differently as a result of browser bugs or lack of support for CSS features. For example Microsoft Internet Explorer, whose older versions, such as IE 6.0, implemented many CSS 2.0 properties in its own, incompatible way, misinterpreted a significant number of important properties, such as width, height, and float. Numerous so-called CSS "hacks" must be implemented to achieve consistent layout among the most popular or commonly used browsers. Pixel precise layouts can sometimes be impossible to achieve across browsers.

Selectors are unable to ascend

CSS offers no way to select a parent or ancestor of element that satisfies certain criteria. A more advanced selector scheme (such as XPath) would enable more sophisticated stylesheets.

However, the major reasons for the CSS Working Group rejecting proposals for parent selectors are related to browser performance and incremental rendering issues.

One block declaration cannot explicitly inherit from another

Inheritance of styles is performed by the browser based on the containment hierarchy of DOM elements and the specificity of the rule selectors, as suggested by the section 6.4.1 of the CSS2 specification. Only the user of the blocks can refer to them by including class names into the class attribute of a DOM element.

Vertical control limitations

While horizontal placement of elements is generally easy to control, vertical placement is frequently unintuitive, convoluted, or impossible. Simple tasks, such as centering an element vertically or getting a footer to be placed no higher than bottom of viewport, either require complicated and unintuitive style rules, or simple but widely unsupported rules.

Absence of expressions

There is currently no ability to specify property values as simple expressions (such as margin-left: 10% - 3em + 4px;). This is useful in a variety of cases, such as calculating the size of columns subject to a contains on the sum of all columns. However, a working draft with a calc() value to address this limitation has been published by the CSS WG, and Internet Explorer 5 and all later versions support a proprietary expression() statement, with similar functionality.

Lack of orthogonality

Multiple properties often end up doing the same job. For instance, position, display and float specify the placement model, and most of the time they cannot be combined meaningfully. A display: table-cell element cannot be floated or given position: relative, and an element with float: left should not react to changes of display. In addition, some properties are not defined in a flexible way that avoids creation of new properties. For example, you should use the "border-spacing" property on table element instead of the "margin-*" property on table cell elements. This is because according to the CSS specification, internal table elements do not have margins.

Margin collapsing

Margin collapsing is, while well-documented and useful, also complicated and is frequently not expected by authors, and no simple side-effect-free way is available to control it.

Float containment

CSS does not explicitly offer any property that would force an element to contain floats. Multiple properties offer this functionality as a side effect, but none of them are completely appropriate in all situations. As there will be an overflow when the elements, which is contained in a container, use float property. Generally, position: relative does solve this. Floats will be different according to the web browser size and resolution, but positions can not.

Lack of multiple backgrounds per element

Highly graphical designs require several background images for every element, and CSS can support only one. Therefore, developers have to choose between adding redundant wrappers around document elements, or dropping the visual effect. This is partially addressed in the working draft of the CSS3 backgrounds module, which is already supported in Safari and Konqueror.

Control of Element Shapes

CSS currently only offers rectangular shapes. Rounded corners or other shapes may require non-semantic markup. However, this is addressed in the working draft of the CSS3 backgrounds module.

Lack of Variables

CSS contains no variables. This makes it necessary to do a "replace-all" when one desires to change a fundamental constant, such as the color scheme or various heights and widths. This may not even be possible to do in a reasonable way (consider the case where one wants to replace certain heights which are 50px, but not others which are also 50px; this would require very complicated regular expressions). In turn, many developers are now using PHP to control and output the CSS file by either CSS @import/PHP require, or by declaring a different header in the PHP/CSS document for the correct parsing mode. The main disadvantage to this is the lack of CSS caching, but can be very useful in many situations.

Lack of column declaration

While possible in current CSS, layouts with multiple columns can be complex to implement. With the current CSS, the process is often done using floating elements which are often rendered differently by different browsers, different computer screen shapes, and different screen ratios set on standard monitors.

Cannot explicitly declare new scope independently of position

Scoping rules for properties such as z-height look for the closest parent element with a position:absolute or position:relative attribute. This odd coupling has two undesired effects: 1) it is impossible to avoid declaring a new scope when one is forced to adjust an element's position, preventing one from using the desired scope of a parent element and 2) users are often not aware that they must declare position:relative or position:absolute on any element they want to act as "the new scope". Additionally, a bug in the Firefox browser prevents one from declaring table elements as a new css scope using position:relative (one can technically due so, but numerous graphical glitches result)

In the end i really appreciate Lie and Bos the creator of CSS. It is really great effort and work for us. It simply make our life easier!

New Website Design!

Its long time when i uploaded my website on net, i think around 6 months before i made changes, since i havent check email account of my website mail. Last night i realized i should check email so i got my mobile and connected with internet then i started recieveing emails and finally my mobile got so slow down because i recieved more than 100 emails continously. I stoped it and opened my pc to look emails, i was very excited to watch rush in my email account obviously i didnt expect too much emails in my website's email address. Anyway i started reading emails initially some emails were spam and then after few seconds i was getting feedback emails. Most of the emails were coming from web designers and freinds. And in the most of emails they were asking about my new design of website. Such as:

Where are you men, long time no see? you dont even come online in now days?
must be busy with new job? anyways i am waiting for your new website i am sure

These above two emails from my friends outside Pakistan, Now i got more than 100 emails like above where they are all asking me to design new look. So i got some motivation after this response. And finally in the late night i decided to make new look. But this time i will change contents too of my website. I was thinking to put some photographic style because recently i had great photo session with friends and result was good. So i have some images to show in gallery. As all knows i am not more in software development house so i think i should not emboss my project or portfolio now because it all have software development stuff. But i wont remove it i just now focused on other stuff like my gallery and etc. And yes i will start work from sketch so it should will be flexible according to all browsers and operating systems or any platforms. And this time desing will be same for long time period.

So i have started working for my website on paper (sketch) INSHALLAH i will come up with some sketches with some color themes in next week. Lets see how my mind allow me to put some more good creativity. :)

Anyways just wait for my new look and contents. I know you will impress from it.

Live Bits and Mast Bits

As refrence of post Monday, February 4, 2008: new idean in mind

I talked about my personal business early in this blog, so after it i discussed it with my friend and made plan for it. I got some plan which will take this business in air.

First we decided name of our company or business so after few days we came up with the name "LIVE BITS". But few changes we made in original thinking, actually not changes these were additions. I decided to made and run ecommerce shop but after meeting we decided to develop more things according to trends. So lets see our milestones then you will be very clear about Live Bits.

Before see milestones we divided our business into two domains, yes for sobber business operations like online cart and classified system we will use www.livebits.pk and for fun and entertainment operations like community, songs, videos and many more we will use www.mastbits.com

In the high-level plan we put 4 applications which are currently very famous in internet world and very difficult to compete them.

1. MastBits Online Forum (Community)
2. MastBits Online Portal
3. LiveBits Online Classified System
4. LiveBits Online Shopping Cart

Ok now you are very much clear about livebits and mastbits things? i am sure you are ;)

These four milestones are covering a complete aim which is LIVEBITS.PK yes, LiveBits is a parent and mastbits is a child of it. In complete business i have one more friend as my partner specialized in marketing and sales and administrator. I will work as technical and financially in this project.

Current Status or Progress

Our first milestone Online Forum (Community) has been completed and running successfully. You can try it and become member of MAST BITS and have great fun. Danish is a administrator and responsible to maintain it and he is champ in this work. he always find some new updations and modify Mast Bits without any down time.

Our sencond milestone Online Portal currently we are working very fast on it, recently we have done with songs sections and about to complete mobile sections, we adopt some other friends in this milestone because it has lot of data and information so we had to need take some guys who have a time. we all are worknig in this milestone with complete energy, InshAllah we will come soon with this achievement. If you ask how much time exaclty so according to me around 1 month more. InshAllah in June 2008 we will launch complete online portal specially for desi members like indians, Pakistanis and all over the world.

Other milestones are currently under analysis stage where only me working, other 2 milestones are actually littile bit different and need some dynamic work. so it may take time but not longer then 6 months. InshAllah.

So please make LiveBits and MastBits popular in the world.

Education in Pakistan

Education in Pakistan

It might be very hurting articles who think our PAKISTAN is very good and well mannered country. so whoever think this please find some pillow and put your face in it and then go to sleep. Being a Pakistani i should talk about education in Pakistan.

Education does not mean to get a degree or certificate from any large or small institutes, Education always means to think out of box with your own brain, yes normally we follow some old patterns in our life without researching anything. Lets talk about your parents, If your father dont wear Black cloths in Mohram so you probably will not wear it too, but question is why? is there any logic behind it? is there any order from ALLAH and MOHAMMED (peace be upon him)? if yes then what it is? why you dont want to know why this thing exisits in your life?

Lets get back to education, First i take basic things about complete education system in Pakistan. Normally when we think matriculation as school, intermediate as colleges and high degree as universities. Now lets see limitations in our own mind? If you think this is right so i strictly against you! you just tell me what is meaning of school? s!mple school always means "PLACE OF LEARNING" so whether you learning anything anywhere it will be your school.

Purpose of education is only allow you to live your life with enjoyment and knowledge. But what is education meaning here in Pakistan? Just to get degree and get fantastic job. :)

Matriculation System / Life

Base is always neccessary for student to become strong person in future, But what the hell base we have :D. Students in all over the world learns new subjects, new technologies, new inventions; But we are learning CRAP issue of kashmir with india since we have education system in Pakistan, For ALLAH sake common guys dont we have enough issue inside Pakistan so study it. :( Even course and subjects are same from several years, What changes? Islamiat even course didnt change only format of exam was change. Why dont u think all other countries even muslim countries reached to moon and what we are doing? we reading and learning kashmir issue, two nation theroy, 14 points of quaid-e-azam, i know its relating to us but shouldnt it count in history? and if it is important so please ask anything from any subject of matric to any student after 2 years of passing exams. I bet answer will be "Parha tha yaar yaad nahi" see what is use? We all study to clear exams just clear examssss!

Second main thing i observed, we dont support our child in career mode. If our child want to become designer, or sumthing casual career so we say no child study engineering, medical it will make your career best, whether child has interest or not we embose our aims and ambitions to our child. For your knowledge student in 10th standard should confirm about his/her career but we even dont know what is career. I think parents and teachers both are responsible for this. Matriculation is not only base of your education, it is base of your life yes complete life.

All other rubbish stuff like cheating in exams, students affairs with teachers and anyother things will automatically get right when we improve ourself!, Remember Education never ever ask your age, you can learn always just you should interest.

Intermmediate System / Life

This two years is very important for student and for careers, You will need to work hard actually very hard working in this level. This level must indicates future life. But in our system we face politics in college, girls and boys affairs, misbehaving with teachers, bunks, absenties and many more.

I think we lost complete control when we divide intermmediate level in two categories 1st Government sector and 2nd is Private sector. Government colleges and institutes enroll those students who have best marks in previous qualification, or who are relative of some RICH DOGS, and private institutes normally those students who had bad result in previous qualification, and who have lot of money. You wont believe if you didnt clear your matric so you can also take admission in private colleges, what F**K it is? Here is point where you are destroying complete Pakistan. Because when these failure studnets comes in market to they make market as failure.

I am not against with private institutes actually i did my inter from private college but reason was my parents doesnt want me to put in govt sector because of political parties. Yes we have all politcal parties in our college espically in intermmediate college i wont take name of these parties just for your information i would like to say some name of colleges like "Shipowner college", "Aligarh", "Islamia College" and many more where you can see open political and illegal activites. My question is why these owners of colleges take them out? This issue is really destroying our youth. And we have majority rubbish students who thinks these politcal actvities make our career best. No No No they only using you like condoms. think my friends think...

Same course and subjects didnt change since we have system :D i dont understand what is the use of Albert story in english subject? You want us to learn some english accent and technicall things? But i think its totally useless! why dont we have IELTS and TOEFL in our intermmediate level? which is surley helpfull for us. Urdu ? :D what we are studying in urdu? we dont even talk in urdu (originall urdu) even not teacher in colleges? Please Please if any responsible person is reading this article so please do something about it or tell us we can do it free of charge and better than you!

High Degree System / Life

Normally we call university where we learn about high degree. This place is better than other education system becuase every universities having thier own charter. Here i appreciate private sector because they are really working hard for Pakistan, I am not ignoring students becuase they also have contribution in it. In this level you will see a proper life where you are working with professionals, learning with professionals and many more.

All universites keep changing course and subject according to new trends in market and in world. I appreciate also visiting faculty who gives us new ideas and new information about current market. Becuase they are working with proffesional organisations.

One thing i point out here is embosing is still found, I dont who is responsible whether HEC or other, yes research is embossing thing here on student and as well as teacher. When someone is not interested in research so why he or she should go for it? Other thing is irrelevant courses like simulation in MS software engineering, scothastic processes in software engineering? :D i am doing job since 3 years and i didnt find any use of these subjects it may be useflut not for all.

So finally my article comes to end, i have lot of thing to say but due to some reasons i cant write here. I am completley clearing that this article is not for misbehaving with system i just want to change this system and it is only in the service of Pakistan. If still some one think i am misbehaving here so please find some pillows and put your face in it and the have long sleep!

Ajax (programming)

Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), is a group of inter-related web development techniques used for creating interactive web applications. A primary characteristic is the increased responsiveness and interactivity of web pages achieved by exchanging small amounts of data with the server "behind the scenes" so that entire web pages do not have to be reloaded each time there is a need to fetch data from the server. This is intended to increase the web page's interactivity, speed, functionality and usability.

Ajax is asynchronous, in that extra data is requested from the server and loaded in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page. JavaScript is the scripting language in which Ajax function calls are usually made.[1] Data is retrieved using the XMLHttpRequest object that is available to scripting languages run in modern browsers, or, alternatively, through the use of Remote Scripting in browsers that do not support XMLHttpRequest. In any case, it is not required that the asynchronous content be formatted in XML.

Ajax is a cross-platform technique usable on many different operating systems, computer architectures, and web browsers as it is based on open standards such as JavaScript and the DOM. There are free and open source implementations of suitable frameworks and libraries.

Bandwidth usage

By generating the HTML locally within the browser, and only bringing down JavaScript calls and the actual data, Ajax web pages can appear to load relatively quickly since the payload coming down is much smaller in size, and the rest of the layout does not have to be redrawn on each update. An example of this technique is a large result set where multiple pages of data exist. With Ajax, the HTML of the page (e.g., a table structure with related and tags) can be produced locally in the browser, not brought down with the first page of the document. In addition to "load on demand" of contents, some web-based applications load stubs of event handlers and then load the functions on the fly. This technique significantly cuts down the bandwidth consumption for web applications. In addition Ajax works on the client and shares some work of the server, reducing the server load.

Browser integration

The dynamically created page does not register itself with the browser history engine, so triggering the "Back" function of the users' browser might not bring the desired result.

Developers have implemented various solutions to this problem. These solutions can involve using invisible IFRAMEs to invoke changes that populate the history used by a browser's back button. Google Maps, for example, performs searches in an invisible IFRAME and then pulls results back into an element on the visible web page. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) did not include an IFRAME element in its XHTML 1.1 Recommendation; the Consortium recommends the object element instead.

Another issue is that dynamic web page updates make it difficult for a user to bookmark a particular state of the application. Solutions to this problem exist, many of which use the URL fragment identifier (the portion of a URL after the '#'[5][6]) to keep track of, and allow users to return to, the application in a given state. This is possible because many browsers allow JavaScript to update the fragment identifier of the URL dynamically, so that Ajax applications can maintain it as the user changes the application's state. This solution also improves back-button support. It is not, however, a complete solution.

Search engine optimization

Websites that use Ajax to load data which should be indexed by search engines must be careful to provide equivalent Sitemaps data at a public, linked URL that the search engine can read, as search engines do not generally execute the JavaScript code required for Ajax functionality. This problem is not specific to Ajax, as the same issue occurs with sites that provide dynamic data as a full-page refresh in response to, say, a form submit (the general problem is sometimes called the hidden, or deep web).

Accessibility

Non-Ajax users would ideally continue to load and manipulate the whole page as a fall back, enabling the developers to preserve the experience of users in non-Ajax environments (including all relevant accessibility concerns) while giving those with capable browsers a much more responsive experience. For this reason it is advised to first develop a full application without Ajax, and implement Ajax enhancements as an addition only. The same counts for JavaScript in general, as this can be disabled in most browsers, thereby hindering user experience at Web sites that rely on these technologies.

now i am fedup with dsl services in pakistan at my home. i know it is problem because of landline of ptcl. dam it doesnt pick signal. but who will fix it? i m using ptcl dsl 256k but it never connectssssssssssss........ :S

now i am about to go for wateen wimax service, but scares if wateen too make shit? :S but it is last hope for me .. abd believe me Telenor internet is better than PTCL DSL shitt...........
